The UK Statistics Authority asked Paul Johnson, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, to lead a Review of Price Statistics in May last year.
The review is considering what changes are needed to the range of consumer price statistics produced for the UK to best meet current and future user needs, and is nearing the end of a programme of work drawing on the views of technical experts and the user community ahead of reporting back to the Authority later this year.
The RPI/CPI User Group and the Royal Statistical Society have been in discussions with the Review team on user input to the review and, as part of these discussions, have agreed to host an open meeting with Paul Johnson on 14 May at the Royal Statistical Society. The event will be an opportunity to hear about the review teams work so far and to raise questions and issues, as well as ensure the review has a complete picture of users’ needs on which to base its findings.
The meeting will take place at 2pm on 14 May 2014 at the Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol Street, London, EC1Y 8LX
