SPE Privacy Policy
The privacy and security of your personal information is extremely important to us. This note explains how and why the SPE use your personal data, to make sure you stay informed and can be confident about giving us your information.
What personal data do we collect?
The personal information relating to its members that the Society collects and uses is relatively basic in nature. It does not extend beyond details that can be used to identify you (such as those that appear in the Society’s yearbook) or information required to maintain your membership (renewal information).
This information includes your name, title, address, employment status and scope of duties, email address, telephone numbers, academic qualifications and year of birth (but not your full date of birth).
Why do we maintain this information?
We maintain this data because without it we would not be able to carry out the services that the Society provides to its members (in particular, we need these details in order to keep you informed about the Society’s news and activities). We also use the personal data you provide to send renewal information by mail and email.
We only use your personal data on relevant lawful grounds as permitted by the EU General Data Protection Regulation / UK Data Protection Act and Privacy of Electronic Communication Regulation.
Maintaining your personal data
Your privacy is important to us, so we’ll always keep your details securely.
The Society’s yearbook contains contact information that is made available to other members in printed form only (unless you have opted not to have your contact details included).
We do not share data with third parties.
Updating your data and communication preferences
We want you to remain in control of your personal data. If, at any time, you want to update or amend your personal data or communication preferences, please contact us on admin@spe.org.uk or call the office on 01264 737552.
Should you wish, at some future date, for us to cease to hold your personal information, you have the right to instruct us accordingly and we will delete your information.
