Come join us at our annual Summer Drinks Reception, in partnership with King’s College London.
Only SPE members are invited to join this unique networking event on the roof terrace of Bush House, with spectacular views over the Thames and surrounding area. This flagship event is a great opportunity for new members so please do share details with your colleagues in case they are interested in joining the Society and attending the event. The evening starts at 6.30pm (Registration at 6.00pm) with drinks and canapes served from arrival.
SPE President Sir Dave Ramsden (Deputy Governor Bank of England) will welcome members to the event before handing over to this year’s special guest speaker, the well-known presenter and journalist, Robert Peston.
Robert Peston is ITV’s political editor, presenter of the politics show “Peston” and the podcast “The Rest is Money”, and founder of the education charity, Speakers for Schools (www.speakers4schools.org). He has written seven critically acclaimed books, including his two latest, “How to Run Britain” Therapy for a Traumatised Nation” and “The Crash”. Peston has won more than 30 awards for his journalism, including Journalist of the Year, Specialist Journalist of the Year and Scoop of the Year (twice) from the Royal Television Society. SPE President Sir Dave Ramsden (Deputy Governor Bank of England) and SPE Council Member, Catherine Connolly (Founder, economicsesense) will also say a few words.
