On Wednesday 4 March, Tom Josephs, Member of the Budget Responsibility Committee, will discuss the Spring Statement. He will be joined by his colleague Rosie Colthorpe, economy deputy director.

Tom Josephs joined the Budget Responsibility Committee in September 2023. Joseph was Formerly Director for Private Pensions at the Department for Work and Pensions, Director of Fiscal Group at HM Treasury, Director of Trade Policy at the Department for International Trade, Senior Economist in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund, and the OBR’s first Chief of Staff.

Rosie Colthorpe is the economy deputy director at the OBR, where she oversees the organisation’s economy forecast and analysis. Rosie previously worked in a range of economy and fiscal roles at the OBR. Prior to the OBR, she was a European economist at Oxford Economics and also worked at Rothschild. 

The event will be chaired by SPE Chair:  George Buckley, Chief European Economist, Nomura.
