Over 160 members and guests gathered on 11 March for the Society’s Annual Dinner in the Nash Room at the Institute of Directors. Our guest this year was George Osborne, editor of the London Evening Standard, and the evening was presided over by Sir Dave Ramsden, President of the Society.

The Chairman, Kevin Daly, thanked Aberdeen Standard Investments on behalf of the Society for generously sponsoring the dinner, and updated guests on the latest Society news and growth. Kevin also thanked KPMG for its kind sponsorship of the Rybczynski Prize, and Yael Selfin, Chief Economist, KPMG presented the joint winners Jack Britton, Jennifer Lambert and Steven Paling with their certificates and prize money. The winning essays can be found in the SPE online reading room.

George Osborne then gave a very entertaining and insightful talk followed by lively debate.The evening was considered a huge success and we look forward to the 2020 event!
