Joint SPE and WEN Webinar: Behaviour post Covid

Speaker: Giulia Tagliaferri, The Behavioural Insights Team
Speaker: Laura Petschnig, Frontier Economics

On 27 October the SPE joined forces with the Women’s Economist Network to host a webinar looking at behaviour changes post COVID. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced businesses around the world to adapt to a ‘new normal’. The workplace has changed - possibly for good. Bustling city centre offices have been replaced with makeshift desks at kitchen counters and the traditional 9 to 5 workday has dissolved into a more flexible regime fit to accommodate a range of caring responsibilities. In a brief talk Guila Tagliaferri discussed why the disruption to work life caused by the pandemic, while taxing, also presents organisations with an unprecedented opportunity to evaluate their workplace cultures and decide what aspects of the pre-COVID working system they want to keep and what parts they’d rather retire. The webinar then opened up into a  panel discussion with Frontier Economics behavioural economics expert, Laura Petshnig.
