In the course of the discussion, Roman Frydman gave a view from America about the current economic situation and health crisis. In particular, he evaluated the relative successes and failures of policy decisions on both sides of the Atlantic, the value of analysis based on Knightian uncertainty concepts, the role of the new mixed economy in the post covid world, and the need for a fuller integration of behavioural economics, conditions of certainty and market distortions into standard economic frameworks and hence policy making.    
 
Roman Frydman is a professor of economics at New York University, and Chair of the Program of Knightian Uncertainty Economics at the Institute for New Economic Thinking. In particular, he is the founding editor of Project Syndicate, a well-known website of commentary and expert opinion on a wide range of global matters.
