Pro Bono Economics
Role : Part-time
Location : Central London
About Pro Bono Economics
Pro Bono Economics (PBE) helps other charities and social enterprises to understand and improve their impact and value. As our name suggests we do this by matching skilled volunteer economists with charities who want to understand how they could work better and achieve more. Since we were established in 2009, we have worked with over 400 charities across the sector, supporting them with data advice, analysis and research.
PBE is looking to recruit an Economics Director (ED) to help drive an increase in both the volume and quality of PBE’s research work. Reporting to PBE’s Chief Economist, the ED will be an integral part of PBE’s economics team and will work closely with the teams delivering our projects in the social sector.
Project teams are made up of volunteer skilled economists from the public and private sector who work with PBE on a pro bono basis. Each project team is supported by an Economic Associate who has first line responsibility for ensuring that each project is carried out to a high standard and provide advice to project teams on methodology, data, and client management issues.
The main focus of the ED role is to ensure that the economic content of our project work is delivered to a consistently high quality. This is a hands-on role requiring the ED to maintain quality standards on individual projects from inception to publication of the final report.
Salary, pension and holidays
The salary for this role is ca. £45,000 per annum (on FTE basis) with a 7% pension contribution.
25 days annual leave (on FTE basis).
3 days per week part-time work with some scope for flexible working.
